Camp Guidelines
Adventure Camp Location

Camp is held in the Burlingame Community Center, 850 Burlingame Ave

Located next to Washington Park.
Emergency Forms

All participants must have an emergency form on file before participating in camp.

Medication Form

If your camper requires medication while at camp, please fill out the Medication Form.

Please include any allergies.
Sign-In/Out
-
Campers must be signed in and out each day.
-
Camp doors open at 7:30am.
-
Campers should be picked up no later than 6:00pm.
-
A late fee of $5 for every 5 minutes will be charged for late pick up.
Identification
-
Be prepared to show a photo ID when picking up your camper if we are not familiar with you.

Ensure that individuals approved to be on the emergency card are listed and have their identification cards with them
Lunch
-
Your camper will need to bring a lunch each day (otherwise noted).

Please pack a balanced lunch, along with snacks and water.

The Community Center has bottle filling stations.
-
The lunch cannot be refrigerated or re-heated.
Snack
-
Please supply your camper with enough healthy snacks and a water bottle that can be refilled throughout the day.
Clothing
-
Close toed shoes are required, flip flops can be worn at the pool, but please have additional shoes for outdoor activities.

Comfortable, layered clothes that can get dirty!

Hats are recommended.

We encourage writing your child's name on their items and clothes.

Please pack extra clothing if needed for your child.
Personal Items

Please leave toys, jewelry and any electronics at home.

The department is not responsible for any lost/stolen/broken items.
Camper is Absent
If your camper is going to be absent or late to camp, please let a staff know or call our front office staff at 650-558-7300
Illness
-
If your camper is experiencing any medical issues (cold, flu, fever, pink eye, head lice), please do not bring them to camp.

There will need to be clearance from the department prior to returning.

Refunds are on a case to case basis and are not guaranteed
Behavior Management
-
Camp Staff demonstrate and teach appropriate behaviors and encourage campers to express their feelings in a “socially acceptable” manner.

Discipline shall be through positive guidance, redirection and clear limits that assist the child’s ability to be self-disciplined.

Guardians will be notified of behavioral concerns.

If a camper demonstrates and inability to manager their emotions and displays aggression, they may be removed from camp and refunds are not guaranteed.
Emergency Plan

Should a city/state/national emergency occur while your camper is at the Community Center, the evacuation location is at the Washington Park baseball fields.
